Global Missions is pleased to announce a new assignment for career missionary Don Deena Johnson. Her new assignment takes her back to Japan where she will serve in ministry with the Nishi Kunitachi Church of God. Additionally, her outreach ministry will include teaching English with the Sei Ai Gakusha, a preschool program in the Nishi Kunitachi area.

Church of God Ministries is pleased to announce that Tyler Hobbs will join the Global Missions team as a special assignment missionary (SAM) to Japan. In this two-year position, Tyler will teach English to adults and children at the Sakai and Konoike Churches of God in Osaka and at the Tarumi Church in Kobe.

Please celebrate with Church of God Ministries the appointment of Don and Caroline Armstrong as regional coordinators for the Asia–Pacific. Don and Caroline are no strangers to Church of God missions, but their names have not been associated with Asia and the Pacific until now. Although their experience has been in Africa, God is now calling them to a different part of the world.

Church of God Ministries is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Varner as a new career missionary to Germany. Aaron will be assigned to the Gateway Berlin Team and help establish a European team that will work in the Berlin area to plant an international church there. The new work will also serve as a launching point for the training of leaders and the development of healthy churches in the region.

Global Missions is pleased to announce the new assignment for career missionary Don Deena Johnson. In this new position Don Deena will serve alongside Church of God leaders in the United Kingdom to develop an ongoing strategy for leadership and discipleship training in that country and to participate in training and mentoring leaders. She will also share in congregational ministry as a part of the body of Christ. The two-year assignment will begin in January 2009.

Please celebrate with Global Missions the appointment of Kay Watts as missionary apprentice to Côte d’Ivoire.

Kay grew up in a loving Christian home and was nurtured by the First Church of God congregation in Winchester, Kentucky, and extended family that included several ministers. The seeds of God’s Word quickly grew in the fertile soil of her heart and Kay began her Christian education ministry in the ninth grade as an assistant first-grade Sunday school teacher.

Global Missions rejoices in announcing the appointment of Dave and Bonnie Baylor as missionary apprentices to Kenya.

Dave first felt the call to missions during his involvement with the Navigators at Purdue University. However, at that time Dave felt that God was leading him into professional life as a mechanical engineer. During the next twelve years, Dave was active in the local church through lay church leadership, teaching, and supporting missionaries.
