Reassignment Announced for Don Deena Johnson

Global Missions is pleased to announce a new assignment for career missionary Don Deena Johnson. Her new assignment takes her back to Japan where she will serve in ministry with the Nishi Kunitachi Church of God. Additionally, her outreach ministry will include teaching English with the Sei Ai Gakusha, a preschool program in the Nishi Kunitachi area.

Aaron will be assigned to the Gateway Berlin Team and help establish a European team that will work in the Berlin area to plant an international church there. The new work will also serve as a launching point for the training of leaders and the development of healthy churches in the region.

She will also share in congregational ministry as a part of the body of Christ. The two-year assignment will begin in January 2009.

The seeds of God’s Word quickly grew in the fertile soil of her heart and Kay began her Christian education ministry in the ninth grade as an assistant first-grade Sunday school teacher.

Dave first felt the call to missions during his involvement with the Navigators at Purdue University. However, at that time Dave felt that God was leading him into professional life as a mechanical engineer. During the next twelve years, Dave was active in the local church through lay church leadership, teaching, and supporting missionaries.
