God calls people of all ages!
He initiates that call with children as he seeks to draw them into relationship. As they grow in relationship with God, he begins to plant a vision for ministry in the hearts of kids. God can use children at their young age to minister to others. Out of these experiences in service to God, some children will begin to sense a call to future ministry as well. Because we recognize God's activity in the lives of children, we want to make sure you are aware of the best resources to help children hear God speaking to them.
What should you do if you know some kids that sense God's call to ministry?
- Help them get involved in ministry right now.
Allow them to assist adult ushers, greeters, or others ministering in
the church.
Take a group to nursing homes, neighborhood clean ups, and other
acts of kindness in the community.
- Allow them access to the pastors of the church.
Provide opportunities for pastors to speak to a gathered group of
children.
Arrange opportunities to spend one-on-one time with the kids.
- Get them connected to one adult who will pray for one child and support one child with notes and words of encouragement!
- Make sure when children help in worship services that they and the congregation understand they are worship leaders not performers.
- Take them through the Godcalling@yourheart.com for 9-10 years and Godcalling@yourheart.com 2 for 11-12 years (available from Warner Press at www.warnerpress.org.
