The discussion here is very general. Team leaders must thoroughly understand (and communicate to their teams) the site-specific conditions and requirements of their trips. It is essential that the issues and questions discussed here be thoroughly discussed and answered in a ministry team’s orientation in preparation for the trip. Another important ingredient in an effective team’s ministry is ongoing debriefings while the team is on-site and encountering situations that call for cross-cultural understanding and appropriate behavior.
