General Director's Office

The general director of Church of God Ministries is the chief staff officer for the Ministries Council. This individual is selected by the council and ratified for a term of five years by the General Assembly.

Photo: Dr. Ronald V. Duncan, General Director of Church of God MinistriesDr. Ronald V. Duncan  was ratified by the General Assembly as the general director of Church of God Ministries in January 2002.

Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Duncan's service to the church and the community has been extensive and varied. He has been a member of the pastoral staffs of Garfield Park Church of God in Indianapolis, Indiana; East Foulke Avenue Church in Findlay, Ohio; and Park Place Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. He also pastored the First Church of God in Mansfield, Ohio, and was most recently the senior pastor at Parkgate Community Church in Pasadena, Texas.

Prior to his ratification, Duncan was the vice chair of the General Assembly of the Church of God and an ex officio member of the Ministries Council, the body responsible for overseeing the work of Church of God Ministries. Over the years, he has been a member and an officer of a variety of national and state boards and committees serving the church-at-large. His service includes terms as chair of the executive council of the Church of God in Ohio and as chair of the credentials committees of Indiana and Texas. In 1997, the Ministerial Association of Pasadena, Texas, honored him as the city's Minister of the Year.

In 1981, Duncan became a chaplain in the Indiana National Guard. At his retirement in April 2006, he held the rank of colonel, serving as a member of the Chief of Chaplains Senior Advisory Council and as the division chaplain for the One Hundredth Division (Institutional Training) of the U.S. Army Reserve.

A graduate of Anderson University, he has earned a master of divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, as well as a master of religious education degree and a doctor of ministry degree from Christian Theological Seminary.
